Project Description 
This is a USAID-funded, high-volume small grants project in Central Asia. The project is housed in the Political Transitions Team of the Communities in Transition Division.

Position Summary 

Short-term internship that provides editing and writing support to a demanding and politically complex project 

Reporting and Supervision 

This position reports to the Operations Director with dotted-line supervision to the Chief of Party. 

Primary Responsibilities 

• Assist program staff in drafting, refining, and editing strategy documents. 
• Review, format, and edit program reports including press releases, success stories, monitoring and evaluation reports, and other documents. 
• Edit grant ideas and approved grants before they are entered into the Database. 
• Review narrative sections in the Database to improve clarity and presentation. 
• Conduct training sessions and/or mentor staff on grammar usage and writing techniques to enhance their ability to professionally present complex, analytical concepts in writing. 
• Other duties as assigned. 


Required Skills and Qualifications 

• Bachelors degree, preferably from a Western educational institution; 
• Fluency in English required; 
• Knowledge of conflict, post-conflict, or transitional state environments highly desirable; 
• Ability to respond quickly to rapidly changing environment and to work comfortably in an often unstable security environment; 
• Excellent organizational and writing skills; 
• Ability to work as part of a team.
