Description:
Purpose of the Position: Research health policy issues, draft analysis and reports, and monitor legislation in the area of health policy. Monitor and participate in developing strategy on comprehensive health care reform efforts at the state and federal level. Primary

Responsibilities:
1. Collaborate with Policy Team members to analyze and influence comprehensive health care reform at the state and federal level.
2. Review, evaluate, and summarize academic and health policy research relating to priority health policy issues impacting community clinics and the low-income patients they serve.
3. Track and review the latest research and policy developments on a broad range of health policy topics at the state and federal level.
4. Serve as a resource for CPCA member clinics on assigned health policy issues.
5. Participate in stakeholder convenings relating to priority health policy issues impacting community clinics and the patients they serve.
6. Write and edit content for CPCA website and CPCA Weekly Update.
7. Provide research support and coordination for CPCA Government Affairs Department staff.

Skills and Talents Required:
1. Excellent written, oral and analytical skills
2. Knowledge of and sensitivity toward diverse cultures
3. Knowledge of public health and community oriented primary care principles, practices and delivery systems
4. Efficient time management
5. Proficient in Windows-based computer applications and computer research skills

Ability to:
1. Manage multiple tasks
2. Establish rapport with staff members and others in business and community settings
3. Analyze, organize and evaluate policy issues

Education and Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experience. Bilingual skills are a plus.
