Description:
The United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, a powerful voice for working men and women, is seeking Strategic Researchers to work on campaigns to win justice and improve the livelihood of workers. The UFCW is leading the fight to build worker power in our workplaces, communities and the political and legislative arenas to insure that workers and their families participate fully in the rewards of the economy they help sustain.

Responsibilities: Strategic researcher implement strategies for organizing and other campaigns. Researchers will acquire advanced knowledge of UFCW core industries. The overall work consists of performing in-depth research using a variety of public and private sources, analyzing and interpreting industry, regulatory and financial data, and working with union staff to build and execute tactical campaign strategy.

Qualifications:
• Strong commitment to progressive social change and activist experience.
• Bachelors degree or higher in economics, policy, finance, law or related degree and/or prior research experience.
• Strong technical research skills.
• Excellent writing ability.
• Excellent quantitative, analytic and people skills.
• Experience with financial analysis or financial statements a plus.
• Experience in Excel, Access and other databases.
• Union campaign experience a plus.
